The Channel Sales Representative will work cooperatively with the channel team to penetrate new business opportunities while meeting/exceeding monthly sales targets.  This position requires aggressive identification and qualification of new business opportunities/prospects through cold calling, email, web and offline based initiatives. 
Specific Objectives and Responsibilities
The Channel Sales Representative, in acting as the liaison between Carbonite and its customers, will be responsible for:

  • Exceed Revenue goals on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
  • Proactively prospect new business opportunities via cold call, email, prospecting tools, & marketing leads provided
  • Cold call into accounts to uncover potential contacts and set meetings
  • Manage sales orders and provide status to partners and/or manager.
  • Ability to understand and communicate Carbonite’s role in the disaster recovery space, and handle objections
  • Educate prospects/customers about terminology, features and benefits of products in order to drive engagement
  • Determine and understand a prospect company’s primary business issues to match a fitting solution
  • Drive traffic to various online and offline events including (but not limited to) tradeshows, webinars and seminars
  • Proactively recommend items needed by customers to increase customer satisfaction and improve transaction profitability
  • Ability to manage and track opportunities and pipeline in Salesforce
  • Manage time effectively, meet personal goals and work effectively with members of the assigned territory
  • Professionally represent yourself and Carbonite at all times to prospects, customers and vendors

  • Cold calling experience in B2B or B2C lead generating environments
  • Familiar with sales cycle process
  • Possess strong troubleshooting skills
  • Background or experience in technology / software selling
  • Knowledge of Salesforce
  • Proven track record of success (should have made quota consistently)
  • Creative problem-solving and strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to embrace the team culture approach
  • Works well in a channel friendly organization

  • Ability to multi-task while achieving quota
